Erik’s career in the AEC industry spans over four decades, starting with hands-on roles as a painter, drywall installer, and fine home builder. His early experiences laid a strong foundation, which he expanded upon by moving into engineering and contracting. As his career progressed, Erik became skilled in project management, managing everything from specialty trades as an electrical contractor to overseeing general contracting duties in the EPC format for heavy industry and mining projects.
Throughout his journey, Erik has led large-scale projects, including data centers and industrial builds, earning a reputation for his strategic mindset and leadership. His diverse expertise, complemented by various certifications throughout the years such as Construction Manager and PMP, empowers him to navigate complex projects with confidence. Erik’s life outside of work is as dynamic and adventurous as his professional journey. Having lived and worked in every state in the U.S. (except the Dakotas!), Erik’s travels have given him a unique appreciation for diverse cultures and environments. His passion for adventure is evident in his love for cycling. Whether on a road bike, mountain bike, or fat tire bike, Erik rides year-round in all weather conditions—hail being the only exception! Additionally, As a Strava Pro, Erik consistently ranks in the top 10 for descending paved hills in his age and weight category—a remarkable feat that highlights his skill and dedication to the sport.
In addition to cycling, Erik is an avid snowboarder, enjoying the thrill of the slopes in winter. But while adventure keeps him energized, he also values quiet moments at home. A proud homebody, Erik enjoys relaxing on his front porch and appreciating life’s simpler pleasures. Each year, he and his family, along with their two dogs, Olive and Sage, retreat to the Wyoming side of Flaming Gorge. There, they immerse themselves in nature’s beauty and enjoy peaceful time together, away from the hustle and bustle.
